(A) Nathaniel S. Barger was an inventor who was credited with the invention of wheel ball-bearings, deep-tilling disk plows, etc. He innovated several improvements in farm implements and vehicles.
(B) Nathaniel S. Barger died in St. Joseph, MO as a result of an infection following minor surgery.
(C) See Family Group Sheet 10274 for the family of Nathaniel S. Barger and his second wife.
(D) Nathaniel S. Barger was the son of the Reverend Nathaniel Barger of New York, whose parents were not identified in the A. L. Barger Journal. Circumstances, however, suggest that this family was descended from the Putnam Valley Barger family of New York.
