(1) The origins of this family line are not clear. According to the I.G.I. International Genealogical Index, LDS Film No. 962428, pg. 213, ref. 4455, the parents of Wiley Barger were Wiley Barger, Sr. and Rebecca Mounts. The Ancestral File at the LDS indicate the names of the parents as John Barger, b. 1790 VA, and Mary (surname unknown). It appears that there were two men named Wiley Barger in East Tennessee at the same time, one of whom was born in Sparta, White County, TN, and the other, who was from Bradley Co., TN. Further research should be done to verify the origins of this family.
