(A) Victor Barger farmed in South Dakota. During the Great Depression of the 1930's, the family moved to Sioux City, Iowa. He was engaged in construction work there.

(B) Jennie and Evelyn Barger moved to Portland, Oregon, but the other children remained in or near Sioux City, Iowa.

(C) This family is descended from the Peter Berger/Barger family of Pennsylvania and Kentucky.
