(A) This was the second marriage of both George Barger and Lydia Salmon Davidson. It appears that her maiden name may have been SALMON. No information is now available regarding any children she may have had by her first marriage.

(B) See Family Group Sheet No. 1469 for the family of George Barger and his first wife, Malisa Susannah Shelman.

(C) George Barger moved to Perry County, IN in 1837, and to Pemiscot Co., MO after 1846 when his first wife died. He returned to Perry County, IN before his second marriage and the birth of his son, George W. Barger in 1850.

(D) Family tradition suggests that George W. Barger was born in KY, as were all the children of his father's first marriage, but it appears that he may have been born Perry Co., IN where his father and mother resided in 1850. This should be verified.

(E) George W. Barger was the only child of the second marriage of George Barger, late in life, to Mrs. Lydia Salmon Davidson. The 12 children of the first marriage of George Barger, to Malisa Susannah Shelman (daughter of Louis Shelman and Elizabeth Barger of Breckinridge, KY), were:
