"Peekskill, NY, Feb 4. Allen Barger, Jr., a jeweler here,
died today at his home after an illness of several months.
He was 57 years old. He was born in Oregon, Putnam County,
NY, the son of Allen and Catherine Tompkins Barger, and had
been in the jewelery business in Peekskill for 42 years.
Besides serving as a member of the Board of Village Trustees
here for three years, he also served as registrar of vital
statistics and auditor for the town of Courtland for many
years. Surviving are his widow, Flossie James Barger, and
a son, Stephen J. Barger."
BELVIE BARGER
"Funeral services for Belvie Barge of Sallisaw were held
at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Candelight Chapel in
Sallisaw. Burial followed in McCoy Cemetery north of
Sallisaw with the Revs. Moroe Lowrimore and Bill Jackson
officiating. Born in Leslie County, Ky. March 9, 1902,
Mr. Barger was the son of George and Alice Bowling Barger.
He married Sadie Welch Sept. 21, 1925. He died Wednesday,
July 24, 1991, in Sallisaw, at the age of 89. Mr. Barger
is survived by his wife Sadie of the home; four sons,
Billy G. Barger, Darrell R. Barger, Bob Barger and Charley
Barger, all of Sallisaw, three daughers, Betty Ridgeway and
Ellen Marty, both of St. Louis, MO., and Kay Lowrimore of
Sallisaw; special friend, Bernard Laswell of Fort Gibson;
a brother Roscoe C. Barger of Bloomington, Ind.; 13
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dewayne Barger, Robert Barger, Joe Barger,
Mike Lowrimore, Randy Walker, Bryan Ramm, Terry Qualls,
Dean Marty, Danny Marty, Steve Barger and Geoffrey Sparks.
Honorary pallbearers were Henry Gay, L.E. Capehart, Jimmie
Newton, Walter Asbill, Mose Sanders, Louis Williams and
Floyd Cody. Services were under the care of Wheeler Funeral
Home in Salliswaw."

farmer in nearby Shrub Oak, NY, died in his home today after
an illness of several months. His age was 80. Surviving are

of Shrub Oak, and three sisters - Mrs. Olie Odel of Peekskill,
Mrs. Dudley Townsend of Lake Mohegan, NY, and Mrs. John Archer
of Jefferson Valley, NY."

"Raleigh, Ill. - Edward Barger, 72, died Tuesday, Sept. 14,
1999, at the Harrisburg Medical Center. He had been a
supervisor for R. C. Cola in Carmi (IL). He was a Korean War
Army veteran. He was a member of the Little Chepel Church in
Raleigh. Surviving are his wife, Velma (Downey); a son,
Edward, of Johnston City; two sisters, Rena Sheild and Eileen
Drganc, both of Skokie; a grandson; a stepgrandson; and
nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 am. Saturday at
Little Chapel Church, with burial in Rhine Cemetery in Eldorado."

"Funeral services for Eugene E. Barger, 6, of Sallisaw are
being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church
in Sallisaw, with the Revs. Robert Polvado and Melvin Kisser
and Don Barger officiating. Burial is in Sallisaw City
Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in
Sallisaw. Mr. Barger was born April 13, 1932, in Sonnett,
Montana, to Earl Jacob Barger and Ocie Alice (Ratcliff)
Barger. He died Sunday, January 17, 1999 in Ft. Smith, AR.
He was a graduate of Gendive High School in MT and North
Central Bible College in Minneapolis, MN, and was an ordained
minister with the Assembly of God Church. He married Marilyn
Meroney May 25, 1955 in Billings, MT. Mr. Barger was the
former chaplin at Blue Ribbon downs in Sallisaw and former
owner and operator of the Best Western, Blue Ribbbon and
Golden Spur motels in Sallisaw. He formerly worked with
the Montana district of the Assembly of God in home missions
and personal evangelism. He was currently in the lodging
business in TX. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Barger
of the home; one sone and daughter-in-law, Dan and Cindi
Barger of Dalhart, TX; on daughter and son-in-law, Janette
and and Larry Hohn of Sallisaw; five grandchildren, Janette
Barger, Michael Barger, Anthony Barger, Angela Hohn and
Sheree Hohn; his mother, Ocie Barger of Billings; one brother,
David Barger of Denver, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and
other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are David Barger,
the Rev. Melvin Kisser, Gil Meroney, Michael Bargr, Larry
Hohn and Daniel Barger"

Una Pearl Barger, 79, of Modesto died Monday at Doctors
Medical Center. Mrs. Barger was a navive of Gentry, MO.
She lived in Modesto 16 years. She was a homemaker. She
was a member of First Baptist Churh. She is survived by
her children, Wally Barger of Walnut Creek and Janie Whorton
of Maricopa; brothers Bobby Joe Summa of SC and Gordon
Summa of Redding; sister, Pauline Slack of Scottsdale, AZ;
and five grandchildren. A graveside service will be
conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Fairhaven Memorial Park,

"W. Gleason Barger died at his home, near Martin, Tenn., in
July, 1906, aged sisty-six years. He served throughout the
war in Company H, 7th Tennessee Cavalry, under General Forrest,
which is proof of his service as an active soldier. He was
married in 1873 to Miss S. E. Carlin, daughter of Elder John
H. D. Carlin, A.B., D.D., one of the most note scholars and
ablest devines of the Baptist denomination in West Tennessee.
Ten children blessed this happy union. Comrade Barger, by
industry and economy, became on of the wealthy men of Weakley
County, and had many friends."
